Hotel Adriatic is Rovinj's original hotel, sitting directly on the main square where the harbour meets the old town. With just 14 rooms and 4 suites, it is the smallest and most boutique-minded property in the Maistra Collection. The location is unbeatable — step outside and you are on the waterfront promenade, with fishing boats moored below and the old town's narrow streets climbing uphill behind you.
The hotel doubles as a contemporary art gallery, with over 100 original works by Croatian artists commissioned specifically for the space. It was also Croatia's first hotel to eliminate single-use plastics. Brasserie Adriatic serves French-inspired cuisine inflected with local Istrian ingredients, and the bar stocks over 100 brands of whiskey. Room service runs from 7am to 11pm.
This is the right hotel for travellers who want to be in the heart of things rather than on a resort peninsula. The nearest beach is a 5-minute walk along the old town's stone-paved waterfront, and regular boat services connect to the islands of St. Catherine and St. Andrew.
