Orca sits in the Gripole area north of central Rovinj, well away from the tourist trail. This is where local families go for Sunday lunch: a proper neighbourhood restaurant with Istrian home cooking in generous portions, friendly service, and prices that reflect the local clientele rather than the tourist economy.

The menu covers all the Istrian classics — fuzi with truffles, maneštra (vegetable stew), grilled meats, fresh pasta — plus excellent grilled fish. The terrace is shaded and spacious. Listed in the Gault&Millau guide. Worth the short drive or bike ride from the centre.
