Sete Sois Sete Luas — Seven Suns Seven Moons — is an internationally acclaimed Mediterranean folk music festival with its roots in Lisbon and Pontedera, Italy. Each July, the festival circuit arrives in Rovinj for two magical evenings of world-class folk, ethno and traditional music performed in atmospheric open-air settings around the old town.

Founded as a cultural network spanning over 30 cities across 10 countries — including Portugal, Brazil, Cape Verde, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Morocco and Spain — the festival has been a fixture in Rovinj for years. It has earned the European Union’s Kaleidoscope Prize twice and received multiple Culture2000 Programme awards for its outstanding contribution to cross-cultural dialogue.

In Rovinj, audiences can expect a rich programme featuring folk musicians, street theatre performances and visual arts projects. Past editions have brought big names from the Mediterranean music scene alongside emerging artists, with concerts typically staged on the town’s waterfront squares and historic piazzas. The intimate scale of Rovinj’s old town gives the performances a warm, communal feel you won’t find at larger festivals.

Sete Sois Sete Luas is free to attend and open to everyone. For music lovers visiting Rovinj in early July, it offers an unmissable opportunity to experience the diverse musical heritage of the Mediterranean world — all within the stunning setting of one of Croatia’s most beautiful coastal towns.
