Monte earned Croatia's first Michelin star in 2017 and has held it ever since. Chef Danijel Dekic works from a compact kitchen in his own childhood home, offering three distinct tasting menus: a protein-centred menu, a fully plant-based menu, and an avant-garde exploration menu. The cooking is rooted in Istrian tradition but executed with contemporary precision.
The dining room seats around 30 and opens onto a small terrace overlooking Rovinj's rooftops. The house olive oil is pressed from the chef's own groves. Reservations essential, often weeks in advance during summer.
