The Wings for Life World Run returns for its 13th edition on May 10, 2026, and Rovinj is once again part of this extraordinary global event. Unlike any other race, there is no finish line — instead, all participants around the world start at the exact same time (noon CEST), and a virtual Catcher Car begins pursuit 30 minutes later, gradually increasing its speed until it overtakes each runner. The person who runs the longest before being caught wins.

What makes this event truly special is its purpose: 100% of all entry fees and donations go directly to the Wings for Life Foundation, funding groundbreaking research to find a cure for spinal cord injury. Since its inception, the event has raised millions of euros for this cause, and every participant — whether they run 5 km or 50 km — contributes to making a difference.

In Rovinj, the race is held at Punta Corrente (Zlatni rt) — the protected coastal forest park just south of the old town. It's a stretch of maritime and stone pines with a flat coastal path that loops along the sea, past rocky coves and through shaded sections. Locals use it year-round for running and cycling. The Wings for Life World Run happens in dozens of cities worldwide on the same day at the same time — and Rovinj's Punta Corrente course is one of the most scenic on the global calendar, with the sea on one side and pine forest on the other. If you can't make it in person, the official Wings for Life app lets you run from anywhere and still count toward the global total. All fitness levels welcome — walkers, joggers, and elite runners alike.

Registration is open until race day via the Wings for Life World Run website or the official app. The entry fee is modest, and you'll receive a participant kit. If you're in Rovinj in early May, this is an unmissable opportunity to combine your holiday with a meaningful, adrenaline-filled experience on the Istrian coast.
