Giannino has been serving fish in Rovinj's old town for decades, run by the Pellizzer family — the same family behind the more upscale La Puntulina. Where Puntulina is refined and romantic, Giannino is homey and traditional: a neighbourhood fish restaurant where the menu follows the daily catch and the atmosphere is genuinely local.
Expect whole grilled fish, seafood pasta, brodetto (fish stew), and classic Adriatic antipasti. The wine list features local Istrian producers at fair prices. A good choice for an authentic, unpretentious seafood meal in the old town.
