Saint Catherine Island
A scenic island beach minutes from the Old Town — calm coves on one side, famous cliff-jumping rocks on the other.
Otok Katarina (St. Catherine Island) is just a 5-minute boat ride from Rovinj's harbour, making it the most accessible island beach. The island is home to Hotel Katarina, which provides extended services for its guests, but the beaches are open to all visitors arriving by boat.
The eastern side features calm, sheltered coves with rocky and concrete platforms — perfect for relaxed swimming with views straight back to the Old Town and St. Euphemia's bell tower. Facilities include showers, toilets, loungers, parasols, a bar, and a restaurant.
The western side is wilder and famous for three cliff-jumping rocks known as Gold, Silver, and Bronze — natural platforms at varying heights (up to 15 metres) that draw thrill-seekers from across the region. It's also excellent for snorkeling around the rock formations.
Boats run hourly from the harbour during summer, with the last return typically around 7 PM. The island is small enough to explore on foot in an hour.
