Glazbeni Poučak ("Musical Lesson") is a year-round cycle of educational concerts held at the MMC (Multimedia Centre) in Rovinj, running roughly monthly from February through November. Each session pairs live musical performance with an accessible lecture, shining a light on a different instrument, ensemble, or chapter of Istria's musical heritage.

Organised by the Pučko otvoreno učilište (Community Open University) of Rovinj in collaboration with the Croatian Musicological Society's Pula branch, the series draws on local musicologists, conservatory students, and professional performers. Past editions have explored topics ranging from the rediscovery of forgotten Istrian composers to the distinctive sound of traditional Mediterranean instruments. Concerts typically feature a short talk followed by live demonstrations and performances by soloists and small ensembles.

Sessions begin at 18:00 and admission is free, making Glazbeni Poučak one of Rovinj's most accessible cultural offerings. Whether you're a music student, a retiree with a love for chamber music, or a visitor looking for something beyond the beach, these intimate evenings at the MMC offer a window into Istria's living musical traditions that you won't find in any guidebook.
