Polari is the biggest campsite around Rovinj — up to 6,000 guests — and it is unapologetic about it. If you want a quiet pine grove, this is the wrong page. If you want your kids entertained from breakfast to bedtime while you sit somewhere with a view of the water, it is very much the right one.

It sits on a sheltered cove 3.5 km south of the old town, with nearly two kilometres of natural beach edged in pine. Maistra's flagship for families, and ADAC rates it five stars.

The beach and the water

Two kilometres of rocky, pebbled and paved-plateau shoreline — no sand, which is true of the whole coast here. On the water there is a floating aqua park, pedal boats and SUPs for hire, and a diving operation.

On land: two outdoor freshwater pools, a third with a water playground, and a spray park for children too small to swim.

Where you sleep

  • Pitches in several grades — Standard, Superior, Premium, and MaiSky themed pitches with little wooden playhouses that small children lose their minds over.
  • Mobile homes with two or three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a proper kitchen and a private terrace. The upper categories add sea views and hydro-massage tubs.

The themed and sea-view pitches sell out first, and July and August go months ahead. Check live prices for your dates rather than trusting a number from a guide.

Eating and shopping

Lovor Real Grill, Kapula Burger Bar and Trattoria Feral, plus bars at the sea and the pools. There is a supermarket, a bakery and a fresh produce stand on site, so you can cook at your pitch without driving anywhere.

With kids

The reason most people book here. The MaiSky Kids Club runs a full programme, there are playgrounds throughout, sports courts, the aqua park and the spray park. It is a campsite where a seven-year-old can be handed a schedule and a ten-year-old can roam.

With a dog

Dogs are welcome for a nightly supplement, and there is a dog beach with dog showers. For where else they can swim, see our guide to dog beaches around Rovinj.

Getting into Rovinj

3.5 km, and unusually well served: a bus stop at the campsite entrance, a coastal walking and cycling trail into town, and a taxi boat that drops you in Rovinj harbour. You genuinely do not need to drive. If you do, read where to park in Rovinj first — the old town is closed to traffic.

Season and booking

Open 24 April to 4 October 2026. Early June and September are the sweet spot: the pools and the kids club are running, the site is not full, and the sea is warm.

Who it suits

Families and groups who want a self-contained holiday with plenty going on, and who see 6,000 fellow guests as atmosphere rather than a problem. If you want the same operator with more polish and fewer people, Veštar is the one. If you want to walk into town for dinner, Porton Biondi is ten minutes from the centre. If you want quiet and adults only, look at Ulika.
