Mon Perin is not really a campsite, it is a coastal resort that happens to have pitches. It stretches along an unusual 9.5 km of coast between Bale and Rovinj, which means space — the thing every camper says they want and few Istrian sites can actually offer in August.

It splits into two zones: San Polo, closer to Bale village and Bale beach, and Colona, further north towards Rovinj. Pick deliberately; they are a drive apart, not a walk.

The coast

Nine and a half kilometres of it, rocky and pebbled in the Istrian way, with pet-friendly beaches in both zones. Because the site is so long and thin, you are rarely far from water, and the crowding that defines high summer at the big camps outside Rovinj simply does not happen here in the same way.

Pools and wellness

Indoor and outdoor pools, a free water park, and an adults-only wellness area with a saltwater pool and spa treatments — the reason couples book here rather than at a family mega-camp. There is a fitness centre too.

Where you sleep

  • Pitches from Comfort up to Premium, the top grade with a private jacuzzi on the pitch.
  • Mobile homes and camping villas across several categories, including beachfront villas with private pools.

Eating

Four restaurants — Mol Picio, San Pol, Porto Bus and Saltwater Oasis — spread across the zones, so which one is convenient depends on where you pitch. Worth checking when you book.

Sport, kids and dogs

An on-site dive centre, windsurfing and sailing, tennis courts, and the free water park for children. Dogs get more than tolerance: pet-friendly beaches in both zones and a dedicated dog agility park.

Bale, and getting to Rovinj

The medieval hilltop town of Bale is a short walk inland from the San Polo zone — smaller, quieter and considerably less discovered than Rovinj, and a genuinely nice place to eat in the evening. Rovinj itself is a drive: this is the one campsite on our list where the town is a day trip rather than a walk or a boat ride. If you are heading in, where to park in Rovinj saves the usual circling.

Who it suits

People who want a polished resort with room to breathe and are happy to be 20 minutes from Rovinj rather than in it — and dog owners, who are better served here than almost anywhere. If you want the same standard closer to town, Veštar. If you want wellness on a smaller scale, Val Saline. If you want to walk into Rovinj for dinner, Porton Biondi.
