Veštar is the most polished campsite in the Rovinj group and the only 5-star one — Maistra's flagship, built around its own quiet bay 5 km south of town. It is what you book when you want camping to feel like a small resort.

The tell is in the pitches: up to 140 m², which is enormous by Croatian standards, with full electricity, water and drainage hook-ups. Nobody is pitching a tent in your awning here.

The bay

Veštar has its own bay, pebbled and rocky, with shade, loungers and parasols laid on. There is an outdoor freshwater pool complex, an aqua park on the water and a spray park for small children, plus a diving school, a boat ramp and a marina — which is why it draws people who arrive with a boat as well as a caravan.

Water sports run the full range: pedal boats, beach canoes, stand-up paddleboards, jet skis and speedboats.

Where you sleep

• Pitches up to 140 m² with full hook-ups, and simpler camping places with electricity only.
• Mobile homes with two or three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and terrace, arranged into themed mini-villages — fishing village, water oasis, Mediterranean forest — rather than the usual grid.

Eating and shopping

Three restaurants — Lovor Real Grill, Kapula Burger Bar and Basilico for pizza and pasta — plus beach and pool bars, a supermarket, a bakery, a fresh produce stall and an ATM. Bike rental on site, and free EV charging.

With kids

A kids entertainment programme runs through the season, and the aqua park and spray park do the rest. It is calmer than Polari, which suits families with younger children better than families with teenagers looking for a crowd.

With a dog

Getting into Rovinj

5 km to the town centre, 6 km to the harbour, with the nearest bus stop 800 m from the gate — so this is the one where a car or a bike genuinely helps. Pula airport is 38 km, about 40 minutes. For driving into town, start with where to park in Rovinj.

Season and booking

Open 24 April to 4 October 2026. The mobile homes in the themed villages are the first thing to go for July and August.

Who it suits

Couples and families who want space, quiet and a resort finish, and boat owners who want a berth and a pitch in the same place. If you want more action and a bigger kids club, that is Polari. If you want the old town on your doorstep, Porton Biondi. For the view back at Rovinj, Amarin.
