Rovinj brings in 2027 on Trg maršala Tita, the open square where the harbour meets the foot of the old town. The whole thing happens outdoors, under the bell tower, and it runs from the evening of 31 December through to the small hours of New Year's Day.

Three acts share the night. Le Monde Band opens at 20:30 and warms the square up. Alen Islamović, a name most people here grew up with, takes over at 22:45 and plays the old year out. DJ Nikola z Kukurini picks it up again at 00:30 for whoever is still standing. The evening is put on by the Rovinj tourist board.

A few practical things. The square is open to anyone who walks into it, and no ticket or admission charge is listed. Dress for a December night on the water: it is rarely freezing here, but the wind off the harbour is honest about the season. Restaurants and bars around the square fill early on the 31st, so book a table if you want dinner before the music rather than after it.

There is a daytime version too. The children get their own countdown at noon on 31 December, followed by Ivan Licul, so nobody has to keep a six-year-old awake until midnight to let them join in. And the whole thing has a second night: on 1 January, Febra band play at noon and Vigor in the evening. The evening sits inside Advent in Rovinj, which runs from 5 December to 6 January.
