The Rovinj Heritage Museum runs "Canton da paradeîsu" from 26 June to 30 August 2026, a retrospective marking the centenary of the painter Bruno Mascarelli. If you care about local art history and the painters who shaped Rovinj in the 20th century, this is worth an hour of your afternoon.
The museum sits in a baroque palace on the main square, a short walk up from the harbour. It is easy to fold into a day in the old town, and being indoors, it makes a good call when the midday sun gets to be too much.
While you are there, give yourself time for the permanent collection as well. Seeing Mascarelli's work alongside it puts a century of Rovinj painting in one place, and it is the kind of quiet, low-cost culture that is easy to overlook in summer.
