Down on Rovinj's waterfront, the Fishermen's Heritage Evenings revive the town's old fishing life for a night. Konoba-style stalls fire up the grills for sardines, grilled fish and other seafood, poured alongside local Istrian wine while traditional music plays by the sea.

They run roughly mid-June to mid-September, on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evenings, timed around sunset. It is free to wander, so there is no ticket and no schedule to keep beyond showing up as the light drops over the harbour.

Go for the sunset and the smell of the grills more than for any single act. It is a low-key local tradition, not a staged show, and it gets busiest in July and August when the town is full.
